What is e-home?
In Delhi NCR (National Capital Region), the first e-home project with green building concept -- Designarch Gardenia by Designarch Infrastructure is taking shape in Vaishali. It would offer three, four, five bedroom apartments and exclusive penthouses with Japanese and Ayurvedic gardens, aesthetically designed children’s play zones, jogging tracks, picturesque water bodies and effervescent fountains dotting the entire landscape.
Inspired by America’s Green Building concept, fly ash blocks would be used ensuring less energy consumption, which in turn enhances the life forces of the occupants.
Certified by the IIT, the flats will be quakeproof and digitally integrated fire fighting panels, automatic fire detection sensors and water sprinklers on all floors will ensure the highest standards of fire safety. The living areas are electronic-savvy, environment-friendly and earthquake-resistant. They also act as entertainment hubs.
In every apartment, there will be the facility of two-way audio and one-way video conferencing with the visitor and provision for India’s first inter-flat video conferencing. Then, in case of any forced entry, an electronic message will immediately reach the owner’s mobile phone and an alarm call goes to the security section. There are other wonderful services - message to the owner as soon as a letter or packet is dropped in the E-letter box, automatic control of master bedroom AC, lights and fans through cell phones, landlines or internet from anywhere around the globe, remote control of electronic appliances, sensor for LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) leakage detection in the kitchen, motorized mechanization for entry and exit gates with proximity card reader and recording of visitors’ fingerprints electronically in the guard room.
Any more? Of course. Enlist multiple heat and smoke detectors, mood lighting and sensor-based streetlights, which get switched automatically after darkness. The price of these apartments would vary from Rs 60 to Rs 90 lakhs but the penthouses would be priced little higher, informs Jain.
According to Nair, all major developers are catering to the emerging demand for such homes to some degree or the other nowadays. These kinds of projects are still underway. The occupancy stands 30% while 70% would still in the pipeline. Honeywell Home systems are in different stages of design and implementation with multiple builders across India.
